Inspired by Malay kampung house on stilts, ‘Lindung’ is a vertical house concept, lifted off ground to offer a dialogue on place and a poetic interaction between the occupants, architecture, climate and landscape. It functions as a connector, that mediates the relationship between human and nature. The solution is simple with descending footprint along the foothill. The floating house creates different spaces and varied relationship with the land. Elevated off ground on stilts, it allows the daylight to go down the land and sustain the life below. The structure is porous for fresh air to circulate through and relies on passive building designs to regulate its internal temperature.
